College Scholarship

The Samuel R. Myers Foundation for Suicide and Mental Health Awareness will award two (2) college scholarships in the amount of $500.00; one (1) for recognition of an outstanding Manteno H.S. student-athlete and one (1) for a Manteno H.S. student who has modeled exemplary civic responsibility. The candidates will receive a certificate for the scholarship and, after providing proof of college enrollment, will receive a check in the amount of $500.00 to be used for any college related expenses. Applicants for this scholarship shall obtain the application form from the Manteno H.S. Guidance office.   

Scholarship Committee

A scholarship committee consisting entirely of non-Manteno residents will be created to grade the applicants only after names have been removed from the scholarship applications.  In this manner the scoring will consist of a double-blind process where applicants are graded entirely on merit.
