Community Arts Council of Kankakee Fall Art Stroll

This free event, presented by the Community Arts Council of Kankakee,  will showcase 70 arts and crafts artisans who will exhibit and sell a  variety of paintings, stained glass, pottery, painted porcelain and  glass, wood carvings, leather work, jewelry, quilts and other  needlework, handmade soaps and lotions, crafts and much more. The Samuel R. Myers Foundation will be e present to provide suicide and mental health awareness material.

A common misconception related to railroad fatalities is that they always involve incidents at highway-rail crossings. However, only 23.8% of  railroad fatalities occur at highway-rail crossings. Trespassing and  instances of intentional death (aka suicide) account for 71.9% of all  railroad-related fatalities. This conference will highlight many strategies to reduce trespass and suicide fatalities on the Nation's railways.
