Since the origin of this foundation, our Board has selected four students from Manteno High School to assist in their transition from high school to college or trade school. This is a tough time for our youth and the Samuel R. Myers Foundation is honored to make this time a little easier for our kids.

Manteno Bike and Walking Path Dedication

Come join us and support the Manteno Chamber of Commerce for the dedication of the new Bike and Walking Path throughout Manteno. Free giveaways and snacks will be available along the path.  Exercise is a great way to manage your mental and emotional conditions!

Illinois State Police Youth Camp

The Samuel R. Myers Foundation for Suicide and Mental Health Awareness will be presenting at the annual Illinois State Police Youth Camp held at Olivet Nazarene University.  This annual camp is provided for at-risk youth from various challenging neighborhoods.  We will be sharing our message that It is Okay to not be Okay as well as Suicide Awareness Matters.

Mental Health issues are more common than most believe with nearly 1 out of every four persons experiencing some sort of condition.  This means that no one is untouched by someone with a mental health and/or emotional issue.  This support group is for those who need someone to talk to in confidence.  this is a shared experience and no one should feel alone.  We are here for one another.  Visit the End the Stigma Facebook group or message the Samuel R.
